O Ninho Dos Piratas

This restaurant has such a great vibe! It’s decked out with a full pirate theme and set right by the water, offering spectacular views of Mount Leao, the ocean, and sunset. It’s about a 1.2km walk from Murdeira Village, but quicker by car. The food was delicious. We had the cachupa and chicken, both of which were fantastic. It did take a little while for the food to arrive, but it was freshly cooked, and the place wasn’t busy, so that wasn’t an issue. We’d read that there was live music, but unfortunately, there wasn’t any during our visit. I gave 4 stars mainly because of the dessert. My chocolate cake was a plain sponge (a bit dense) with chocolate ganache with chocolate icing, and the cheesecake wasn’t great either. We were also disappointed that our desserts weren't decorated with icing pirates, as seen in photos But aside from that, everything else was lovely! #nostress

We on visited once but spent a couple of hours enjoying the chilled atmosphere, views and drinks. The staff was polite and kept on top of cleaning and serving customers. There was a live musician/singer and he was very good. We didn't eat but the food we seen being served look to a high standard and was presented well. The staff was helpful in phoning us a taxi and letting us know when it arrived so we could soak up the sun and finish our drinks.

We went on a TUI sunset dinner at this venue, as it was our anniversary I did expect separate tables for 2 but we were seated as a table of 8 with others on the same excursion, I’m sure they would of split it had I of asked but it turned out to be a good laugh with the others once we got chatting! I loved the owners story of how the concept of the restaurant came about and feel he really does care about the staff, local people and the island. The drinks orders were a little slow to start off with but we were a party of around 20 arriving so I guess this was understandable! The food as part of our excursion was buffet style for 3 courses and was pretty decent with a choice of meats and fish dishes with accompaniments, we were also given 3 complimentary drinks as part of the package. The atmosphere was lovely although due to the clouds we unfortunately didn’t see the sunset (no fault of anyone’s). The entertainment was great with a DJ, dancers who also got you up to teach you some of their moves, and also fire breathers at the end. There was also a photographer taking pictures and you had the option to buy all of these at the end for €25, sent via email for you to download. All in all it was a lovely evening, I think next time I visit the island I would get a taxi down there and try the dishes from the menu as they had a vast choice and looked good from what I seen.

We were very sceptical, it looked more like a tourist trap. But we ended up pleasantly surprised! Happy hour cocktails (very good), PERFECT food grilled practically in front of our eyes, relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful sunset. Extensive seating area. Sun loungers, tables on the beach and on the rooftop restaurant and also access to the beach. Decor a bit tacky but it somehow makes sense. We left very satisfied

Hello, We have had a lunch at this restaurant and also drinks in the evening after spending a whole day at a beach nearby. Lovely place, my wife and I both liked the atmosphere. The restaurant has outside and inside tables and you can choose where to sit depending on the weather. I would recommend sitting outside in the evenings - it would be less hot and you would bevrewarded by the best view. We ordered fish as our main courses, waited around 40 mins for the dishes to arrive. However, there meal was delicious! My wife andni agreed that the fish was the best we had tried so far at Sal. Very descent coffee and cocktails. My wife said the cocktails were good and they were reasonably prices. So in total the lunch was around 50 euros for two people and it was also one the main points we enjoyed our day at the beach. Cheers.

I was septic about this place due to a few reviews Honestly don't be put off because of that People forget that this is a small touristic island and all products have to be imported They live mainly on tourism So 1800cv for a board of cheese and 450cv for a caipirinha is not expensive. Dinning for 4 with lots of alcohol sea food, starters and fresh fish was around 100euros. On top of all this you have an amazing view, you can spend your day there as the beach is outside and you have loungers and swings... They also offer showers for 1euro The service may be slow but again due to resources they can't have the luxury of having the grill on all day Again all products from this island are imported so do expect to pay that in touristic places or go to a local restaurant and have the basic local food(which is amazing as well) About the flies, yes you do have flies around This is a beach restaurant in a tropical place What do you prefer having a few flies or looking at flie traps while you are eating and enjoying the sun views and atmosphere?! People now a days complain about everything I feel the duty of complaining as well because the sea was to salty Hahahha

The atmosphere here is absolutely lovely and beautiful. My wife and I had our flight delayed so we stopped over to get some drinks and rest. The outdoor space was very beautiful and relaxing. The food was amazing as well.

Dined here twice. First for dinner, good sized portions, well cooked food. Returned for the entertaining fire show and another cocktail.Returned for Saturday lunch with free music.Sitting in the 26C winter sunshine. All good. Big pirate theme. Ideal for kids. Recommend
